Quilled Wall Art- Allah

"Allah" -"The One and Only God".

Last month was Ramzan and was invited by many of my friends for Iftar to break the fast. I thought it would be best if I could carry some handmade gifts. And the idea stuck me why not make quilled Allah.

I got inspired from this web page - http://thecreativemuslimah.blogspot.com/2011/09/quilling-in-arabic-and-jewelry.html. She had made Quilled Allah and I followed her idea and made two. One on a Light colour background and the other in a Dark colour background. They were happy to receive the gift, Alhamdulillah.

Bright Colours in Dark Background
Write the word in Calligraphy. Glue the outline first. Take one long paper for the bottom and one for the top. Fold it and then glue it.
  1. Fill the inner with different shapes and colours..
  2. Add the Swivels in the bottom.
  3. Fix it in the frame.

Knit Ruffled Spring Scarf

Its almost an year since I blogged and a lots had been happening this last year. I had 4 craft fairs and did a lot of travelling... lots of good food and hoards of scarves, quilled photo frames, greeting cards, quilled wall art.

Spring came expelling the cold long winter days and I longed to wear light fancy scarves and got some Starbella and Sashay Red Heart fancy yarns. I extensively browsed through youtube and internet and learnt to knit and crochet using these yarns.

Instruction video How to knit Red Heart Sashay Ruffle scarf Knitting 102 in youtube by YvetteMarieCrafts -  the url https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVGHP8-NS94 was the best. It was slow and very elaborate and I was knitting ruffled scarves soon.

I made some for my friends who had been through my thick and thin. It was a gift everyone loved so much.

Note:

The initial  and final knots get hidden in the ruffles  by folding the yarn 2 or 3 times while starting and finishing the scarf.
